The NRB exchange rate is the official foreign exchange reference rate set by Nepal Rastra Bank, Nepal's central bank. It publishes buying and selling rates for major currencies against the Nepali rupee (NPR) every business day.

The Indian rupee is fixed at NPR 160 = INR 100. All other currencies float against the rupee and move daily.

NRB Exchange Rate FAQs

The NRB exchange rate is the official foreign exchange reference rate published each business day by Nepal Rastra Bank. This page shows today's buying and selling rates for USD, EUR, GBP, INR and other currencies against the Nepali rupee, updated daily.
The buying rate is what a bank pays you to take your foreign currency; the selling rate is what it charges to give you foreign currency. The selling rate is always slightly higher.
Yes. The NPR is pegged to the Indian rupee at a fixed rate of NPR 160 = INR 100 (1 INR = 1.60 NPR), published alongside floating rates for other currencies.
NRB publishes new reference exchange rates every business day. Rates are not updated on public holidays, so weekend rates carry over from the last business day.
Not exactly. The NRB rate is a reference rate. Banks and remittance providers add a small margin (spread) and may charge a fee, so the rate you actually receive is usually slightly different.
Google displays the international market (interbank) mid-rate from data providers such as Morningstar, which moves through the trading day. This page shows Nepal Rastra Bank's official reference buy and sell rates, fixed once per business day and used by Nepali banks. The market mid-rate normally sits between NRB's buy and sell prices — both are correct; they measure different things at different times.
